“Cervia” is a graphic work taken from notes set a work agenda from more than 25 years ago, but with an effectiveness that made it possible to realize in 2022.
I love Romagna. Ever since my father-in-law bought a house on the Romagna Riviera fifty years ago, I’ve never stopped visiting, both in summer and winter. In May of ‘98, I was in Cervia for work, and I had written the word “jail” in all caps on my agenda. I remember exactly why. The season was about to begin, and many people were already on the beach. From the coastal road, I could see the bright colors of some umbrellas and the golden hues of the sand. I knew I couldn’t stop, so I denied my eyes the chance to reach the sea. Huge black iron bands kept me from getting close to it.
