It is always quite striking when you venture into the memory of situations experienced forty years ago. The one related to the Teatro Sociale of Badia Polesine pertains to the atmospheres and colors that emerged from the important restoration work that, at that time, I was carrying out there with my collaborators. Apart from the exterior—stern and monochrome—my agenda notes recorded the refinement of the new warm-toned decorations that intertwined with other notes about the challenges faced on site. These aspects led me to emphasize the geometric elements in the composition, which also include the “fears of the time,” represented by disturbing and well-defined shapes, even though they eventually dissolved when the project was completed and handed over with deep satisfaction from the client.
