I love Romagna. Ever since my father-in-law bought a house on the Romagna Riviera fifty years ago, I\u2019ve never stopped visiting, both in summer and winter. In May of \u201898, I was in Cervia for work, and I had written the word \u201cjail\u201d in all caps on my agenda. I remember exactly why. The season was about to begin, and many people were already on the beach. From the coastal road, I could see the bright colors of some umbrellas and the golden hues of the sand. I knew I couldn\u2019t stop, so I denied my eyes the chance to reach the sea. Huge black iron bands kept me from getting close to it. <\/p>\n
